Hooded armed men execute two campesinos

Today Tuesday, armed men assassinated two Honduran campesinos in the proximity of the El Naranjo community, in the Atlántida department.

The laborers Ramón Ulises Castellanos and Miguel Sauceda had been kidnapped from their homes at 5:10 am by six hooded men who identified themselves from DNIC, or the National Bureau of Criminal Police Investigations.

“They were all wearing bulletproof vests and ski masks. One of them had a DNIC initial on his vest,” said of the victims’ wife. She said that the men came into the house asking where the guns were, “that if I didn’t tell them, they would take me too. But I don’t know what they were looking for.”

The dead bodies of the campesinos were found less than an hour later by a highway and had bullet wounds on their abdomen, thorax, and heads. One of them presented head lesions.

The DNIC said that all the agents of that regional police office were in the headquarters, which is why they assume that these were delinquents who were wearing police uniform and badges to commit these type of crimes.
